7. My Recovery Plan - February 2023 Healing

I am in so much pain! You have no idea! I spent the weekend trembling in pain. My body was hot and then I would freeze, I couldn't regulate my own body temperature. 
Pain so bad I was flashing back to being tied in the closet. I thought I was going to die alone in a basement coat closet when I was about 4 years old.

I'm still in pain but it's either getting better or I'm getting used to the new pain. 
I'm going with better.
Maybe it's residual swelling.
Maybe it's just going to keep getting better.
Maybe today is the day I get all caught up.
The only person getting in my way is me now.
No more excuses.
I've been in pain my whole life almost.
I'll get through this hard part.
I'm almost home free.

I got smacked in the head accidentally last night. 
Oh My God!
I cried. My child cried. We both cried together.
I feel nauseous today.

I found one drawback from this technology so far.
It's minor.
But, when there is too much Bluetooth activity around me, my remote won't connect to my implants to adjust the stimulation.
After stepping away from my computer, I was able to adjust the strength/frequency of my device.
It's minor.
I have no regrets.
Feeling things with the right side of my face again has been nothing short of a miracle for me.
Everything sort of tickles.
I love it! Nothing beats the feeling of snowflakes melting on your cheeks. The cold wind. 
What is normal to you, is new to me and I'm grateful for this experience again.
Little things really do make all the difference.

Life is getting better.
I still have pain but it's manageable. I keep forgetting to take pain meds. Every time I'm lasting a little longer before having to reach for that bottle.
The stimulation doesn't reach my nose so I still feel the rug burn sensation on my nose. The back of my head isn't covered either. I think I have about 60% maybe 70% pain reduction with this implant.
It's pretty incredible.
A miracle really.

I almost feel normal.

I got my first haircut last weekend. My hair is so thick it just stands up! Lol
I have scars on my face now.
My face feels so sensitive.
Everything tickles.

1. The Bucket List - The Plan to Rise

Following the successful trial surgery, I was overwhelmed with anxiety, eagerly awaiting the call for the permanent implantation of a spinal cord stimulator! Unfortunately, the pain returned, and when I reached for the medication my neurosurgeon had prescribed, I found only an empty bottle. To my shock, my longtime friend had taken most of my medications. Devastated, I cried. We had agreed I wouldn't use the tramadol, but I never imagined she would take it, especially since she had me reimburse her for it; my health benefits had failed at the pharmacy. 1. My Recovery Plan - trial surgery

For years I endured dilabilitating pain. I spend the majority of my young adult years trying to get help.  First Trial Surgery I had a trial DBS system surgically implanted on May 11, 2022 to help with the pain I have caused by vascular compressions to nerve bundles, the trigeminal ganglion, located under the brain. My ear ache initially started in 1992. My grandmother used to put drops in my right ear in an attempt to help me. At that point the pain was transient. I also suffered from migraines starting at age 11. I've had countless consultations with different neurosurgeons throughout the GTA.  This is the first time a neurosurgeon has agreed to help me.
